A sheet count that looks off, an along-width layout you think should win, a kerf setting that changed your total, a panel weight that disagrees with the spec sheet, a calculator you wish existed — this page routes your message to the person who can re-run the numbers and verify them against the panel data, not a form that vanishes into a queue.

Answered Already, Most Likely

Most plywood questions are covered somewhere on the site. These are the destinations that resolve the majority of emails — worth a look before you write. The fastest path to a verified sheet count is usually one of these pages.

What to Include for a Fast Reply

  • ✓Browser & device (for UI glitches)
  • ✓Room dimensions — length × width, plus ceiling height if relevant
  • ✓Sheet size you selected (4×8 ft or metric)
  • ✓Panel thickness
  • ✓Material — softwood/hardwood plywood, MDF, or OSB
  • ✓Kerf width and waste factor settings
  • ✓The result you expected vs. the result shown
  • ✓A screenshot of your calculator inputs

A screenshot of your calculator inputs halves the back-and-forth.

Calculation & Sheet-Count Help

A sheet count that doesn't match your own math? A layout that should win along-width but doesn't? A kerf or waste question? Send the inputs you entered — room dimensions, sheet size (4×8 ft or metric), thickness, material, and kerf width — along with the result you expected versus the one shown.

Corrections

Report a Formula or Data Error

The site computes sheet coverage with waste allowance, along-length vs along-width layout comparisons, kerf loss, cost estimates, panel weights from density × volume, and fastener counts and spacing per IRC Table R602.3(1). If any output, thickness/density value, or spacing standard disagrees with APA data, a manufacturer spec sheet, or the IRC, send the page URL and exact numbers.

What Happens After You Hit Send

No ticket numbers, no canned macros. Here is the actual path a message takes from your outbox to a verified answer — the same path whether you found a two-sheet discrepancy or want a new material preset added.

StepWhat HappensWhat It Means for You
1A Person Reads ItNo ticket bot, no autoresponder loop. Messages with exact inputs — room dimensions, sheet size, thickness, kerf width — are reproducible, and reproducible messages get answered first.
2We Re-Run the Numbers by HandFor anything numeric, we rebuild your calculation by hand — sheet coverage, along-length vs along-width layout, kerf loss, waste percentage, weight, or fastener spacing — and compare against APA panel data, manufacturer spec sheets, and the IRC before replying.
3You Get the Math AttachedThe reply shows the formulas and the inputs that moved the number. If we were wrong, the reply says so plainly and the fix is dated on the page it affects.
4Verified Fixes Go into the DataConfirmed corrections feed the thickness, density, and spacing tables the calculators read from, and strong feature requests feed the roadmap. Your email stays with your thread, is never added to a list, and there are no lists to add it to.

Quick Answers

The five questions we hear most from DIYers, contractors, and shop teachers.

How do I get a faster reply?▼

Include the exact inputs: your room dimensions (length × width, plus ceiling height if relevant), the sheet size you selected (4×8 ft or metric), panel thickness and material (softwood/hardwood plywood, MDF, OSB), kerf width and waste factor, and the result you expected versus the one shown. Add a screenshot of your calculator inputs. That one message usually lets us reproduce and explain the difference in a single reply.

Do you offer live chat or phone support?▼

Not yet. Email lets us re-run the full sheet-count calculation and verify every answer against APA panel data and manufacturer specs before responding — which matters when the topic is a 40-sheet order or a fastener schedule. We read every message and answer most within two business days.

Can you tell me exactly how many sheets my project needs?▼

We can tell you what the calculator's method says for the room and sheet spec you enter — and show every formula behind it, including waste allowance, kerf loss, and the along-length vs along-width comparison. But real projects have real tolerances: walls out of square, door and window openings, sheet damage, and offcuts you can or cannot reuse. Treat the result as a planning figure and buy your buffer accordingly — the cut list you mark on site makes the final call.

Do you sell plywood, MDF, or OSB?▼

No. The site sells nothing, carries no affiliate links to any lumberyard, big-box store, or panel manufacturer, and is not affiliated with any brand. Advertising is clearly labeled and separately handled — see the advertising section of the Privacy Policy for how that works.

Can I suggest a new calculator?▼

Please do — that is how the toolset grows. Send the problem you were trying to solve, the material and sheet size you were working with, and what you wished had been calculated for you. Requests that describe a real shop or job-site problem (e.g., 'can you account for stud spacing when sheathing a wall?') go to the top of the content queue.

Everything Links Back to the Tool

Every answer we send names the exact calculator input that changes — room dimensions, sheet size, kerf width, waste factor — so the fix is something you can apply yourself in seconds.
